Rowdies wrap up year

To wrap up their season, the Virginia Rowdies club softball team competed in the WFC early signing showcase in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Rowdies, made up of softball players in and outside of Central Virginia, posted a 4-2 record in the tournament with their two losses coming in games where the drop dead time of 75 minutes was reached before they were allowed to bat in the bottom half of the inning. In all the Rowdies outscored their competition 36-20.

Four players local players chipped in solid efforts through out the tournament. Three Madison County players held their own including catcher Karri Carpenter, hard hitting Casey Racer and defensive stalwort Lauren Seale. Carpenter was behind the plate all weeked. Racer had a pair of home runs in the tournament. Seale’s play in the outfield helped the Rowdies defense lock down their opponents. Louisa County’s Briana Cox was one of four pitchers with strong efforts in the event.
