Western’s Scot gets as far as Group AA singles finals

For the first time since 1990, a member of the Western Albemarle boys tennis team made a showing in the Group AA singles championship. Cam Scott of the Warriors took down Derek Gale of E.C. Glass in two hard fought sets before succumbing to two-time champ Patrick O’Keefe of Salem in the final.

The last time a Western player made the Group AA final was 1990, when Rachid Benejelloun beat Stefan Susta of Tabb 6-0, 6-0.

As if a second place showing wasn’t good enough at Radford, Scot will get a chance to lead his team to a Group AA championship when Western faces Hidden Valley today.
