Western Albemarle’s Chris Madison may have been struggling with his control — he gave up at least one walk in every inning but one for a grand total of 10 free passes — but he was able to zone in on every other batter and register a no-hitter for the Warriors in a 6-0 victory over Monticello.
Western didn’t record a single error against the Mustangs.
Madison struck out 10 in the no-hit effort for his third win of the season — and second no-hitter. He through another against Charlottesville in a 12-1 win. It was also the second time Madison and Dillon Via went back-to-back with no-hitters this season. Via no-hit Charlottesville late last week after no-hitting Miller earlier in the year.
Western loaded the bases in the first but could only scratch out one run. Noah Carter eventually tacked on some insurance runs with an RBI single in the fifth inning.
Adam Frazier had a double while Tanner Knight picked up a steal. Nick Pegan and Ethan Lohr also had RBIs.
