Out at Goochland, Monticello capped off a succesful week on the road as they took down Goochland 3-0, 25-16, 25-20, 25-14. Kate Geldmacher put together a solid all-around match with 10 kills, five aces and five digs. Teammate Carla Brooks was close behind with her 9-kill, 4-ace outing. Mariah Williams led her team with 27 assists while Taylor Hopkins anchored the defense with 10 digs.
At Western Albemarle, the Warriors rolled past Charlottesville 3-0, with Riley Martin’s strong performance at the service line leading the way. Martin had four aces and oversaw a 14-0 run in the third game that allowed Western to put away the match.
Ana Asher and Laura Bergin ignited the front line with four and five kills each while Erin Voss chipped in three kills. Martin set the table as usual with 19 assists.
At Orange County, the Hornets took one game from Louisa County, but fell in four to the Lions, 3-1, 17-25, 25-20, 25-16, 23-25. Allie Fincham led the Hornets with her seven kills and three blocks. Paige Phillips had a team high six blocks to go with three kills. Emma Chronister had five kills and a trio of aces.
Orange travels to Spotsylvania on Monday at 7:30 p.m. Louisa travels to Charlottesville on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Monticello hosts Western on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Goochland will participate in the St. Gertrude tournament over the weekend.
