The first Wells Fargo Cup standings of the 2012-2013 school year were released today and a few local squads are in contention after the fall season.
On the strength of the football squad’s Group A, Division 2 championship and the volleyball squad’s state quarterfinal appearance, Goochland sits in eighth place overall in the Group A standings while Western is in 12th and Albemarle is in 35th. The Patriots lone points were from the volleyball squad’s state quarterfinal berth. Western got points from both cross country squads and the golf team. William Monroe is in 15th in Group A based on the strength of the golf squad’s state title.
