Taylor, Ayers combine to ignite Buckingham

Another Friday, another big night for Maurice Taylor and unbeaten Buckingham County.

The Knights crushed Randolph-Henry Friday night 50-14 to move to 8-0 on the year with a big-time homecoming win. Taylor piled up 192 yards and four touchdowns on 27 carries against the Statesmen, powering a big-time offensive performance by the Knights.

Quarterback Tarian Ayers threw for 162 yards and two touchdowns of his own while going 10-for-17. He found Antonn Briley four times for 85 yards and a touchdown.

The Knights led 23-0 at the break.

Buckingham kicker Russell Taylor knocked a 27-yard field goal through the uprights for his first field goal of the season.

Buckingham gets another bye week this week before traveling to take on Amelia in the first week of November.
