STAB hockey shuts out Covenant

St. Anne’s-Belfield got rolling early and picked up a 6-0 victory over Covenant Tuesday afternoon, with Carlin Maurer’s hat trick leading the way for the Saints.

Maurer also had an assist on an Elizabeth Carden score that put the Saints up 3-0. Carden returned the favor on the next goal when she assisted Maurer’s second goal of the game.

Sadie Bryant got the scoring going with the opening goal of the game off an Annie Cory feed. Cory scored the fifth goal on a Julia Haney assist and Maurer wrapped up the scoring with an unassisted tally that made it 6-0. Isabell Scholz also had an assist.

Brittany Schoeb continued her solid work in the cage with three saves on the day.

The Saints take on Steward Friday at 4 p.m. while the Eagles look to get back on track on the road Friday against St. Gertrude’s.
