STAB dismantles Nansemond Suffolk

Kareem Johnson stepped in, picked off a Nansemond Suffolk pass and raced in for a touchdown. Things didn’t slow down for St. Anne’s-Belfield after that as the Saints unleashed a surprising 61-6 dismantling of NSA.

By halftime, STAB was rolling 32-6, with quarterback Lee Parkhill throwing a pair of touchdowns to Campbell Miller and Johnson during the explosion. Parkhill finished with 177 passing yards and two touchdowns on 9-for-16 passing.

With a 35-yard punt return for a touchdown in the third quarter, Johnson finished off a night where he scored in three different ways.

A trio of big scoring plays followed, with John Woodson scooping p a fumble and scoring, Jamil Wilson unleashing a 62-yard scoring run and DeeJay Anderson breaking off a 69-yard touchdown sprint.

Jake Allen finished with 69 receiving yards and a rushing touchdown while Jalen Harrison had 65 yards receiving on three catches. Johnson piled up 55 yards on his four receptions.

Minor Smith led the Saints with seven solo tackles, while Allen was close behind with six stops.

The Saints, who now sit at 4-1, will head south to Roanoke for a big test against North Cross next week.
