Andrew Mann, with just six points, led the frontcourt in the defensive struggle. Albemarle had to rely on its guards to stay in it, with Mayn Francisco scoring 10 points, Lee Carneal knocking in eight and Andrew Frazier finishing with seven points. Daiquan West chipped in with six.
Albemarle faces Patrick Henry-Roanoke in the Northwest Region quarterfinal Thursday.
