Orange boys knock off Western

Orange head coach Adam Utz has been looking for a monster win for his Orange County team this season.

Edging out Western Albemarle on the road fits the bill.

The Hornets exploded for 24 points in the fourth quarter to storm back and edge Western Albemarle 61-58 Friday night.

Orange got the job done with balance as Kyrie Carter led the way with 13 points, MArshall Williby finished with 12 points and Brandon Franklin chipped in 11. Chance Williams had eight pints and Jaylen Alexander had seven.

Williby had five rebounds and two steals to go with his 12 points while Jireek Washington had three steals on the night. Williams blocked a pair of shots for the Hornets.

For Western, Tommy Mangrum notched a double double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Gabe Nafziger had 11 points.
