Nolan Jenkins Festival ushers in lacrosse season

Each year, lacrosse season in Central Virginia gets a major early boost when 41 middle school lacrosse teams descend on Charlottesville for the annual Nolan Jenkins Memorial Youth Preseason Lacrosse Festival.

Teams from as far away as Canada, North Carolina and Maryland hit the field with area Boys Middle School Lacrosse League (BMSLL) squads for three days of games on turf fields throughout the area in the fourth annual event this weekend. ACAC and CAYLC hosted the event.

That’s over 850 boys ranging in age from 11-15-years old.

The event kickstarts BMSLL’s season, which officially begins Sunday, March 21.
