Behind a 3-hit outing on the mound from Danny Morris, the William Monroe baseball team picked up a 6-1 win over hosting Goochland on Wednesday night.
Morris had the Bulldogs continuously popping out, and with the Greene Dragons showing up defensively, Monroe was able to hold Goochland scoreless in the last six innings of the game.
Logan Forloines was 3 for 4 at the plater for the Dragons. Jordan Gentry went 2 for 3 and another sophomore, Zach Duprey was also 2 for 3.
Both Monroe and Goochland will be back in action on Monday in the Jefferson District tournament against opponents and times to be determined.
Editor’s note: Changed to fix Zach Duprey’s name, 10:31 p.m.
