Imovbioh earns Parade All-American honor

Now, it appears, the rest of the United States knows what Central Virginia has known for at least three years.

Sarah Imovbioh is a special, special basketball player.

Imovbioh earned Parade All-America honors this week, and was even a finalist for the national player of the year, an award that went to California product and Connecticut signee Kaleena Mosquada-Lewis.

UVa-bound Imovbioh, who was the first two-time winner of any Scrimmage Play sport-specific player of the year award as the girls basketball player of the year in 2010 and 2011, averaged 29.0 points and 22.6 rebounds per contest this year as the most physically dominant force in the state’s private school ranks, where she also earned POY honors.

Another Virginian, Princess Anne’s Elizabeth Williams, was also a national player of the year finalist. Williams is a 6-foot-3 center headed for Duke this fall.
