Fork Union explodes past Hargrave

Fork Union didn’t waste much time hanging a bunch of points on Hargrave Military Academy.

The Blue Devils scored 20 in the first quarter and 15 in the second to pile up a 35-0 halftime lead Saturday, with Rich Dyer’s 113 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns leading the way in a 42-0 victory.

Dyer scored three different ways, striking in the first on a 43-yard run then just minutes later on a 68-yard punt return and finally on a 34-yard pass from Richard Quittenton in the second quarter.

Three Fork Union running backs had big days, with Dyer piling up 71 yards, Andre Parker rushing for 60 yards and Keevin Allen rushing for another 95.

Fork Union likely won’t have as easy of a time next week at home against Episcopal, a squad that the Blue Devils squeaked by last year 13-6.
