Covenant takes care off Eastern Mennonite

Covenant’s boys basketball team got knocked around a little bit late during the Eagles’ Saturday matchup with Miller, but Covenant bounced back easily to coast 70-49 against Eastern Mennonite Tuesday night in the VIC quarterfinals.

Covenant now locks up with Hargrave Thursday night at 7 p.m. on the road.

Isaac Stewart-Silver, who broke the scoring drought for both teams that started the game with 4:20 left in the first quarter on a 3-pointer, led Covenant with 16 points. Terrence Briggs then chipped in 14 and Bryan Pollard went for 13.

Covenant jumped out to a 21-11 lead eventually and held on from there to knock off the Flames.
