The Covenant girls tennis team got a dominant performance in singles Tuesday at the Boar’s Head after rain forced the Eagles’ VISAA Division II quarterfinal match indoors.
That effort was more than enough as Covenant rolled 6-0 over Virginia Episcopal to lock up a spot in the state’s final four.
Corinne Jennings, Emily Dahnert and Aahley Lainhart each rolled 10-0 at the top of the ladder while Eleanor Lee won 10-1, Briana Boland won 10-3 and Hayley Fox won 10-2.
The Eagles will now take on the winner of Nansemond-Suffolk and Chatham Hall Friday at 4 p.m. in the state semifinals at Piedmont Community College’s courts at 4 p.m.
