Collegiate girls lacrosse edges St. Anne’s

St. Anne’s-Belfield’s girls lacrosse team’s tough schedule continued this week when the Saints locked horns with Collegiate on the road after battling Episcopal at home on Wednesday. STAB got the better of Collegiate back in late March, but the Cougars pulled out an 11-9 victory Friday afternoon.

Amanda Johnson poured in four goals for Collegiate to lead the Cougars offensively while Christine Thexton and Austin Pruitt posted hat tricks to round out the majority of the Collegiate scoring.

Despite those solid numbers, Catherine Towers had a monster night in the cage for the Saints, coming up with 14 saves.

Addi Bolin and Corrina Coffin had three goals each for St. Anne’s in the loss while Lila Satterfield had a pair of goals. Kate McCullough scored once and dished out two assists.

STAB fell to 6-2 on the year, with both losses coming this week. The Saints play Virginia Episcopal Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
