Charlottesville’s field hockey team apparently knows how to get a season started.
The Black Knights rolled Liberty-Bealeton 7-0 Monday night.
Eight different players notched points with reigning Jefferson District offensive player of the year Kendall Ballard leading the way. The sophomore scored two goals and dished out an assist.
Maddy Eure score two goals while fellow senior Nell Ackerman scored one.
Kendall Dowdell and freshman Emily Blow had a goal each while Hollis Camp helped trigger the offense with two assists. Marie Therese Schneider and Emily Lichtenberger each had an assist.
Joanna Kammauff wasn’t tested often, but was up to the task when she was as she had four saves in goal for the Black Knights.
CHS gets a chance to go to 2-0 when it hosts Fauquier Thursday night.
