Buckingham wraps up regular season with win

Buckingham County completed its regular season a lot like how it started the year — leaning on Maurice Taylor for a big offensive performance and picking up a win.

The Knights edged out Central Lunenburg 24-20 with Taylor rolling up 200 yards on 31 carries as the senior, per usual, made up the bulk of the offense. Tarian Ayers had an efficient night at quarterback, going 6-for-8 for 78 yards and a touchdown to Antonn Briley. Briley finished with 41 yards on four catches.

Cam Johnson had two catches for 37 yards.

Defensively, Jackson Bryant anchored the Knights with 12 total tackles. Michael Layman also had an interception.

The Knights will take on Clarke County in the Division 2, Region B semifinal Friday night.
