That’s a little more like what Buckingham is used to.
After a slow offensive performance in the Knights’ opener against Appomattox, Buckingham’s offense exploded against Chatham in a 43-7 romp.
The Knights piled up 507 yards on the ground, with Leon Ragland going for 241 yards and five touchdowns on 28 carries. B.J. Gough also got going in a big way with 224 yards on 21 touches. Gough also went 2-for-4 through the air with a 31-yard touchdown pass to Jervonte Morgan.
Defensively, Ragland picked off a pass, as did Hunter Edwards. Harley Gough led Buckingham with five tackles and Patrick Carr had a sack.
The Knights (1-1) will look to move north of .500 when they take on a third-straight Dogwood District foe with William Campbell coming to town Friday.
