The Buckingham County boys basketball team secured its spot in the James River championship game with a 68-61 victory over Randolphy Henry on Wednesday night.
Buckingham trailed by five at the half, but seized a 2-point lead in the third quarter before holding off the Statesmen in the fourth quarter.
As he has all year long, Taylor Boyers led the Knights with a big-time 29-point 15-rebound showing. Tarian Ayers and Kevin Bolden each scored 12 points. B.J. Jones gave Buckingham four players to score at least 10 points. Jones also had six assists.
