Attack Pack wins volleyball tournament

During the fall Ryan Schuett and Kate Girdler are on the opposite sidelines for Albemarle and Western Albemarle, but that changes during the Junior Olympic season. On Sunday the two helped coach the Attack Pack 15-2 to their first tournament win held at Western, and the timing couldn’t have been better as Girdler is stepping down to pursue graduate school in Tennessee.

The Attack Pack first took down Blueridge U15  by a score of 2-1 before beating the Lady Aces 3-0 in their second match. Schuett and Girdler’s team then swept HP National and took down MACV 15B, 2-1, to reach the championship game where they saw HP National again.

After falling in the first game, the Attack Pack rallied win the next two games to win the tourney behind the play of their setter, Maddie Walters, and Maddie Spindel and Anna Buhle up front.

The Attack Pack will travel Roanoke for their next tournament on April 10th at Cave Springs High.
