Albemarle’s Kostelac in national spotlight again, FUMA shows in relays

Give him credit, Anthony Kostelac knows how to get it done in Beantown.

The Albemarle senior was part of a record setting team in the 4×800 relay race last year, and this year he followed it up by taking first place at the Nike indoor championship in Boston by winning the 800-meter race. But he did more than etch his name on the first place trophy — Kostelac broke the meet record with a time of 1:50.96 and also became the sixth fastest runner to run the race in high school.

Fork Union’s Eddie Jones, Louis Lickett, Nick Naimool and Wojiech Czernek came in third in the 1600 sprint medley relay. Kostelac, along with Jervon Speller, Jordan Hill and Tory Key took eighth in the race.
