In its last regular season match of the year, the Albemarle girls tennis team put together a convincing 9-0 win against rival Western Albemarle Friday night.
At the top of the ladder, Megan Napolitano was a game time decision after a collision with her doubles partner the night before, but shook off the nagging injury to pick up a 10-4 win over Maddie Wilson in singles and also team up with Abby Lesnoff in doubles to earn a 10-2 win against Wilson and Sonali Nanda.
“Megan, Abby, Tori Kuhn, Elise Lord, Eva Ng and Ivy Haines — they all played well,” said Albemarle coach Rich Lindsay. “ Its a good win cause (Western) coach Dahl’s got a talented squad and they play with class”.
Albemarle (15-1, 14-0) begins Commonwealth tournament play on Monday hosting eighth seed North Stafford at 5 p.m.
