Volleyball roundup: Albemarle, Western pick up sweeps

Albemarle took care of business, and after a pair of tough Saturday matchups at home, the Patriots finally face off with Commonwealth favorite Colonial Forge next Tuesday on the road.

Sarah Terlesky came up with six digs and 11 service points while Stephanie Strauss managed seven kills and five blocks.

The Patriots moved to 9-0 in the Commonwealth and 11-2 on the season.

Western sweeps Louisa

Western Albemarle rolled to a 3-0 victory of Louisa Thursday, winning 25-7, 25-13, 25-15.

Sarah Harper’s eight kills and seven digs in a short night of work keyed the Western attack and defense. Chastity Lacy managed eight kills of her own, while sophomore Katie Rossberg and Kristin Pack each came up with four kills. Riley Martin and Megan Adams had 12 and 14 assists splitting the offensive workload nearly evenly once again.

Western now sits at 14-1 and 9-0 in the Jefferson District.
