Week four of our volleyball poll is out, and most of the poll remained status quo, though Louisa did get back in the mix and Fluvanna County moved up a few spots.The poll is tabulate from coaches throughout the area as well as votes from members of the local media.
Scrimmage Play’s Coaches and Media Poll
1. Western Albemarle
Showdown with Monticello tonight on the road will be a critical district test for the unbeaten Warriors.
2. Albemarle
A huge win over traditional Commonwealth archrival Colonial Forge last week gives the Patriots a big boost as they move into the heart of the season.
3. Monticello
Mustangs secure third spot with 3-2 victory over Fluvanna County in tight Jefferson match. MHS also swept Goochland 3-0.
4. Madison County
Mountaineers fell to William Monroe to split the series on the year, but bounced back to shut down Page County 3-1.
5. Fluvanna County
Flucos took Monticello to the wire last week, then swept William Monroe 3-0 on Thursday for a monster win.
6. William Monroe
Dragons evened series with Madison, but went down 3-0 to a continually improving Fluvanna squad.
7. Nelson County
Governors fell at home last week to Dogwood rival William Campbell after smoking the Generals 25-8 in the first game and winning a hardfought third game.
8. Covenant
Eagles take on local archrival St. Anne’s-Belfield tonight in a key private school matchup.
9. Orange County
Hornets maintain ninth spot in poll despite loss to Louisa.
10. Louisa County
Lions move back into poll with 3-1 win over Orange County.
