Louisa County wrestler Owen Greslick has already made a habit of getting into the state tournament.

Now he’s making a habit of winning the Region 4B championship.

Greslick won his second straight Region 4B wrestling title in dominating fashion Saturday, winning his opening match with a pin less than two minutes into the match. He followed that with a 7-1 decision in the semifinals over Devin Burrows from Spotsylvania and then pinned Jacob Koening of Mechanicsville High in 2:13 to wrap up the championship.

Greslick will compete in two weeks at the Class 4 state championships in Virginia Beach, and while he’ll be Louisa’s lone qualifier coming out of Region 4B, he won’t be the only local.

At 106 pounds, Orange County’s Waylon Rogers was the region runner-up, getting there with a pin in the opening round and a dramatic 4-2 sudden victory win in the semifinals before getting turned in the title match. In a non-pandemic year, Orange would’ve advanced three wrestlers to the state tournament. At 126 pounds, Ethan Turner picked up third place at 170 pounds Taylor Jenkins finished third as well. This season only the top two wrestlers per region advance to the state tournament.

Powhatan won the team Region 4B title while Orange finished ninth and Louisa took 10th as a team.
