William Monroe got a taste of what lies outside the Jefferson District in Region II when James Wood came to town for the Dragon Holiday Ball.
For one day at least, things looked great for Monroe.
The Dragons rolled 64-47 over the Colonels, a Northwestern District squad.
Monroe got a balanced scoring effort with seven players scoring and five knocked home six or more points. Katelyn Roach buried five of the team’s six 3-pointers en route to a 20-point night while Cally Troutman played one of the best games of her career with 16 points, quadrupling her usual average of about four points per contest.
The Dragons clicked offensively from the start, totaling double digits in all four quarters including an 18-point opening frame.
