Covenant’s girls basketball team kept battling and a third quarter surge put them in control for good as the Eagles beat Tandem Friends 42-31.
After trailing by a point at the half, Covenant outscored Tandem 11-4 in the third. Stella Maton and Ella Dalton each had four points during that big third quarter and Claire Colley knocked down one of her four 3-pointers as part of her 14-point night.
Dalton finished with nine points while Bella Harris and Maton each had eight points.
Tandem’s Stella Lane had 11 points on the night while Alana Carter-Johnston had nine points.
Covenant will take on Steward on the road Tuesday while the Badgers will try and bounce back Saturday against Regents.
