Covenant baseball’s Mason Mitchell got going at the plate and Declan Kent was solid on the mound Thursday afternoon as the Eagles rolled 19-1 past Blue Ridge.
Mitchell went 4-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles while scoring three runs in the win while Kent struck out 12 and allowed just three hits in the victory. Kent also hit a homerun to help his own cause and went 2-for-4 with for RBI.
Chaz Harvey also put together a big day with a double, a triple and a 2-for-4 performance with a pair of RBI.
Jake Hoadley and Chris Newton each had two RBI. Wesley Arrington and Cole Harvey each posted a pair of hits.
Simon Buras got Blue Ridge on the board early with an RBI and Amon Johnson and Spencer Byers each also posted hits.
The Eagles face a quick turnaround with Virginia Episcopal on the road Friday while the Barons face Blessed Sacrament Huguenot April 20 on the road.
