Western boys picks up win over Lee

Western Albemarle’s boys basketball team’s youth movement is coming along nicely. The Warriors, who play a number of sophomores in the regular lineup, knocked off R.E. Lee 53-42 Tuesday night to move to 3-1 on the year.

Ben Turner, the Warriors’ returning leading scorer, led the way with 17 points. Sophomore Parker Morris chipped in with 16 points to bolster the offensive effort and fellow sophomore Chase Stokes hauled in eight rebounds on the night.

With just a single loss to loaded Virginia Episcopal marring their record, the Warriors are starting to pick up steam. They face Spotswood Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.
