Western Albemarle’s girls tennis team beat Fort Defiance Tuesday 6-0 in the Conference 29 semifinals, earning a spot in the Region 3A West tournament and staying unbeaten on the year in the process.
The Warriors (16-0) turned the tide with hard fought efforts by Lauren Kearns and Savannah Diamond, who both trailed early in their opening sets before getting on track and winning. Molly Servine also had to battle to win her first set before pulling out the 7-5 victory.
