Patriot swimmers sweep Mountain View

The Albemare boys and girls swim teams swept Mountain View, each winning by at least 20 points. The Patriots boys squad won 155-134 while the girls took their match 154-133.

Albemarle freshman Matt Lockman place his first regional qualifying time when he won the 50 yard freestyle with his time of 0:23.23.  Lockman also won the 100 butterfly with teammate Michael Bernardino finishing just one hundredth of a second behind to take second place. Chase Robins, Sean Cudahy and Tim Webb also picked up regional qualifying times. Cudahy qualified in the 200 free. Both he and Robbins qualified in the 500 free. Webb’s time in the 100 breaststroke made him a regional qualifier.

For the girls, Christine Pajewski took the 50 free with her time of 0:27.16. Holly Harper won the 100 fly with her sub 60 second time of 0:59.47. Sophia Brown won the 100 free, also finishing in less than a minute with a time of 0:59.81. Katie Roddy won the 500 free in 5:41.12. Harper, Pajewski, Nikki Ross, Mackenzie Jones took the 200 medley relay by more than six seconds, finishing the race in 2:00.56

Both teams will take part in their last meet before the Holiday break next Friday at Brooke Point.
