Monticello’s field hockey season got off to a strong start Thursday night as the Mustangs rolled past E.C. Glass 10-0.
Josie Mallory, Paige McGlothlin and Brittany Andris each scored two goals, with McGlothlin also dishing out two assists while Mallory assisted on one goal. Caleigh Smith chipped in a goal and an assist while Kendall Smith, Sarah Alberts and Ari Archer had one goal a piece. Hannah Page added an assist.
The Mustangs poured on eight first half goals to take an 8-0 lead at the break. Monticello will take on Louisa County in its Jefferson District opener next Thursday.
