Madison still perfect after road trip to George Mason

The Madison county football team made the most of their first Bull Run District game of the year against George Mason on the road with a convincing 35-14 victory.

The Mountaineers had three different rushers put up atleast 40 yards in the win with senior Logan Terrell leading the way with his 13 carries for 79 yards and two touchdowns. Following Terrell was Devon Boone with 87 yards on just six attempts. Jerod Williams also had six caries and was able to pick 48 yards.

Dustin Kirby had a sound night under center for Madison. The senior threw for 135 yards and completed 67 percent of his passes on the night. Tight end Dylan Shifflette was the top target in the passing game. Shifflette had 63 yards on five receptions while teammate Antonio Childress had 40 yards on his two catches.

The Mountaineers (7-0) will host their first district home game of the season on Friday at 7:30 p.m. when they play Strasburg.
