Fork Union drops Benedictine

They needed a touchdown and a safety in the fourth quarter to take control, but Fork Union ended its two-game slide with a 22-15 victory over Benedictine Saturday.

Andre Parker carried the load for the Blue Devils with 184 yards on 21 carries including a 65-yard sprint in the second quarter. Backfield mate Louis Litkett took a screen pass 35 yards for another touchdown in the same frame.

Richard Quittenton and Mitchell Starnes combined for a solid day at quarterback, going 10 for 24 for 142 yards and two touchdowns.

Joe Branch had a strong defensive performance with seven total tackles to lead FUMA including two for a loss. He also hauled in an interception and a pass breakup.

The Blue Devils had lost three of their last four to a trio of tough teams in Liberty Christian, Woodberry and Collegiate.

Fork Union hits the road to take on Valley Forge Military Academy in Pennsylvania next week.
