Fluvanna fell to Kettle Run Tuesday night in the Flucos’ Region II quarterfinal match, dropping the contest 3-2 after winning game one with ease.
The Flucos were up 19-7 in game three after Kettle Run took the second frame, but the Cougars reeled off 10-straight points despite a pair of Fluvanna timeouts to take control of that game and grab a 2-1 lead in the match.
Fluvanna bounced back in game four to win, but dropped game five 15-13 in a hotly-contested battle.
Mandy Kline’s 15 kills led the attack and Jefferson District player of the year Kayla Walker posted a solid all-around night with 14 kills, seven aces and a block. Mia Loyd had 11 kills and four blocks.
Hannh Miller knocked down seven kills and came up with a block while setters Courtney Tyree and Sammi Toy had 22 and 17 assists respectively. Toy also picked up a pair of kills.
