Efficient STAB blows out Southampton

STAB only got to run 19 offensive plays against Southampton Friday night in a 36-6 victory.

They essentially made every single one of those plays count, averaging 16.1 yards per play while scoring on four of them without committing a single turnover. It was next level efficiency for the Saints and it made for an easy win on the road, with Nic Reese scoring three different ways to ignite a night filled with big plays for the Saints.

Reese got things going with a 68-yard touchdown run with 5:12 left in the first quarter. Then Amani Woods broke off a 69-yard spring for a touchdown early in the second quarter. Shortly thereafter, Reese went 86 yards on a catch from Nolan Bruton and less than two minutes after that, Woods got loose again for a 51-yard touchdown and a 29-0 lead.

Reese added his third touchdown on a pick six early in the second half, capping a night where he scored three of the four times he touched the ball.

Joe Ambrosi finished with seven solo stops including a tackle for a loss for the Saints while Jago Gould had five tackles. John Mark Wenger and Jackson Harry each had four stops, with Harry and Nick Musi each coming up with a sack.

Bruton went 3-for-7 for 91 yards and a touchdown at quarterback.

The Saints will get a week off before taking on Virginia Episcopal on the road October 5.
