Covenant volleyball sweeps Eastern Mennonite

Covenant’s volleyball team went on the road Thursday night and swept Eastern Mennonite 3-0, thanks in large part to another well-rounded performance from freshman Cara Hamil. The Eagles cruised 25-8, 25-16, 25-17 to pick up the win.

Hamil blasted a team-high 14 kills and came up with 10 digs for the Eagles to help lead a young Covenant squad to a solid road win. Freshman Peyton Garber also played well, leading the Eagles with 11 digs on the night while freshman setter London Constant had 21 assists and three aces.

Delaney Poindexter chipped in three kills and three aces while eighth grader Kerrigan Poindexter also had a trio of kills.

The Eagles will host Tandem Friends Monday at 5:30 p.m. at home.
