Covenant volleyball holds Dig Pink night, soccer faces Eastern in VIC action

Covenant is getting into the mix of supporting the fight against breast cancer by hosting a “Dig Pink” night to benefit The Side-Out Foundation.

The Eagles host St. Catherine’s at 5:30 Tuesday night in a game where there won’t be any admission charge—but donations will be accepted to give to Side-Out.

Fans have been asked to wear pink when attending the match.

Covenant (10-7) is ranked No. 7 in VIS’s Division 2 and is currently tied for second in the League of Independent Schools with St. Catherine’s (5-1). The Dig Pink game will determine seeding in the LIS tournament that starts next Tuesday.

The Eagles were the state runners-up last season and brought back juniors Alex Howerton and Emily Smethurst, as well as sophomores Connor Adams and Sallie Cathcart.

Covenant’s boys soccer team enters VIC tournament play Tuesday too. The Eagles face Eastern Mennonite on the road at 4 p.m. in the tournament quarterfinals.
