Covenant’s girls wrapped up their fourth straight LIS Division II league basketball title behind a big finish in the final four minutes Saturday to take a 38-31 victory over St. Margaret’s.
The Eagles went on a 15-2 run to close out the game after going down by six during the fourth quarter, avenging a 44-43 upset loss to St. Margaret’s two weeks ago on a buzzer beating 3-poiner.
Kelly Crispens and Gabby Mirabelli, both of whom earned all-LIS nods on the year, finished with 12 points each. Crispens also had seven steals while Mirabelli had four assists and four steals.
Emily Smethurst tallied 10 points and six rebounds while Margot Leibl finished with four points and five rebounds.
Covenant takes on Tandem next Tuesday.
