Louisa County’s girls basketball team picked up a critical win over Western Albemarle Tuesday night, winning 66-49 over the Warriors.

 

Tyi Skinner poured in 29 points and Anna Agee scored 15 for the Lions. Daniqua Marshall had 10 for Louisa with six of those coming in the first quarter. Louisa went 16-for-20 at the free throw line as a team with Skinner going 10-for-12.

 

Western sophomore Elisabeth Coffman exploded for 21 points.  

 

Monticello boys rally past Orange

 

Orange County led Monticello by four points heading into the fourth quarter before the Mustangs exploded for 21 fourth quarter points and a 61-55 win over the Hornets.

 

Ukari Brooks poured in 23 points to lead the Mustangs while Kobi Copeland scored 16 including 10 in the fourth quarter alone. Malik Barbour notched 10 points for Monticello.

 

Orange’s Jordan Shook finished with 17 for the Hornets while Tre Smith had nine.  

 

Madison County boys drop Warren

 

Madison County’s boys basketball squad got a huge performance from Isiah Smith and in turn beat Warren County 88-60 Tuesday.

 

Smith put together a monster triple double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 17 assists in the victory. The Mountaineers were electric from beyond the arc with 13 3-pointers on the night.

 

Gaines Swink had six of those buckets from outside and led Madison with 25 points. Dre Twyman had 19 points.

 

Albemarle boys beat Powhatan

 

Albemarle’s boys basketball team blew past Powhatan Tuesday with Na’il Arnold leading the charge.

 

Arnold finished with 22 points on the night while Jake Hahn flirted with a triple double with 13 points, nine assists and nine rebounds. J’Quan Anderson notched 13 points and six assists while Austin Katstra and KaySean Allen each had 10 points.

 

Other Scores

Albemarle’s girls basketball team beat Powhatan 47-37 Tuesday with sophomore Haylee Howard-Radde dropping 20 points on the Indians. Aiyanah Tyler-Cooper had nine points and Kayla Mann finished with eight points for the Patriots.

 

Orange County’s girls basketball team beat Monticello 40-33 Tuesday. Laine Harrington led the Hornets (3-8 overall, 2-3 in Jefferson) with 12 points. Dasha Kinlaw had 11 for the Mustangs.
