Basketball Roundup 1.26.17: Monroe and Madison boys pick up wins

William Monroe’s boys squad beat Rapphannock Wednesday night 83-46.

The Dragons’ Kam’ron McCain posted a double double with 10 points and 12 assists on the night while Anthony Terry exploded for 26 points and eight boards.

 

Monticello girls edge

Monticello’s girls squad edged Waynesboro 43-40 in overtime, with Hannah Shifflett burying a 3-pointer with 18 seconds to play to lift the Mustangs past the Little Giants.

 

Madison boys drop Central

On a night where Isiah Smith was honored for reaching the 1,000-point mark for his career, it was Dre Twyman that led the assault for the Mountaineers in a 74-45 win over Central-Woodstock.

Twyman led Madison with 24 points while Kobi Alexander scored 15 and  Elijah Lewis had 11. Smith also chipped in 10 points to round out the Mountaineers’ effort.

 

Other Scores

Buckingham’s girls beat Chatham 57-37.

Buckingham’s boys fell to Chatham 64-44. Antonio Chambers scored 18 points and A.J. Johnson finished with 12 points.
