Apparently the Albemarle High to UVA running pipeline is picking up steam.
Patriots star Anthony Kostelac is set to join former high school teammates Zach Vrohvac and Luke Noble at Virginia next fall.
Kostelac, a versatile runner, will compete at the Millrose Games this weekend running the indoor mile. The Millrose Games in New York were the site of the Patriots’ 2009 4×800 win over Morris Hills, N.J. by eight seconds that kickstarted perhaps the most impressive semester-long performances by a track group in Central Virginia history by Vrhovac, Noble, Kostelac and Garrett Bradley.
Kostelac was the Northwest Region cross country champion in the fall.
Albemarle will hold an official signing event for Kostelac Wednesday February 3 at Albemare High.
