Albemarle volleyball sweeps Orange

Albemarle volleyball’s Jefferson District title defense got off to a smooth start Tuesday night as the Patriots rolled 3-0 over Orange County.

 

Albemarle rolled 25-17, 25-12 and 25-21 in the match.

 

The Patriots (2-1) got a big night at the service line with three aces each from April Herndon Scott and Adalee Lynch. The tandem also presided over long runs at the line with 14 and 13 service points respectively. Up front, Maya Winterhoff had seven kills while Lynch notched six and Sophia Dawson chipped in four. Keira Roach and Olivia Turner split the setter duties with Roach finishing with 11 assists while Olivia Turner had 10. Kendall Gray finished with eight digs while Herndon Scott had six.

 

Albemarle will face Monticello Thursday night while the Hornets travel to take on Louisa.
