Albemarle boys lacrosse slips past Mills Godwin

Albemarle’s boys lacrosse team scored with 11 seconds left to beat Mills Godwin 9-8 Friday night in a hotly-contested out-of-district clash.

 

The Patriots’ balanced offensive attack got two goals each from Andrew Scanlon, Connor Warner and Alec Kelly with Scanlon and Kelly each also chipping in an assist. Forrest Warner scored a goal and dished out two assists. Daly Sembrowich and Max Wooten each scored goals and Cooper Cramer contributed an assist.

 

Albemarle keeper Matthew Willis made four saves.

 

The Patriots host Powhatan Tuesday in their Jefferson District opener.
